Lisa Pasalich grew up in sunny San Diego, California. She comes from a very patriotic family. Many of her family have served or are still serving in the US military. Both of her grandfathers served in World War II. Growing up hanging on every word of their amazing stories fueled her love for history and America. Her grandmother was a published Christian author and poet. She has always wanted to follow in her grandmother’s footsteps and become an author.
Lisa worked in the medical field while raising 3 small children. She spent most of her time volunteering in her children’s school and serving as vice president on the PTO board. She loves serving her community by organizing many events and fundraisers. Being so involved in her children’s school opened her eyes to the world of education. She now works as an educator for Humboldt Unified School District in Prescott Valley, Arizona. She is a library media specialist as well as a drama and choir teacher. She stays true to her roots, having her choir perform patriotic music at many events including the nationwide ceremony, Wreaths across America.
Lisa loves working with children and teaching them a love for reading, writing, and patriotism. She has started “Letters to Soldiers” at her school and in her community. It is a program where children can get the supplies and help to write and send thank you letters to the soldiers overseas. It is her mission to teach the new generation the importance of our history and of our future. To teach them an appreciation for our nation and for the brave men and women of our military and their families who sacrifice everything to protect it. Most of all it is her mission to teach them that freedom is not free!
